Bible Verses About Forgiveness: 20 Encouraging Scripture Quotes
Bible Versions and References Used Foreword References for all statements obtained from research are listed at the end of this thesis and are marked throughout the text with corresponding superscript numbers. Readers are encouraged to verify everything to their own satisfaction. Introduction Most Christians in the world today believe in the Trinity which is the union of the three divine persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — into one Godhead. The Trinity, therefore, is a principle that can be considered dogmatic. Sincere Christians, however, are more interested in obtaining accurate knowledge from Biblical research than in twisting and manipulating the scriptures to fit some preconceived man-made doctrine or dogma. To these people, truth is more important than tradition. Is the dogma of the Trinity fact or not? Let us examine the evidence. How the Trinity Became Doctrine During the days when Christ’s apostles lived, the Gospel was taught with accuracy, but after their death, it did not take very long for the truth to become eroded with falsehoods.

Terry Watkins Dial-the-Truth Ministries Frequently we receive emails or phone calls asking our opinion on the various “teen” Study Bibles. While the NIV Teen Study Bible scripturally explains many subjects and provides teens with some helpful insights for their teenage world, the Teen Study Bible also contains some very disturbing information. It is especially disturbing in light of the impressionable and often confused teenage mind. It is also alarming that a major publisher would include some of the shameful information found in the Teen Study Bible.
It is even more disturbing that the staff at Zondervan actually reviewed it, edited it, approved it and published it. The Zondervan Teen Study Bible is in the typical “in your face, extreme, radical, graphic, colorful, hip, cool” style that supposedly appeals to the average teenager.
That just seemed backwards to me.
The basis of the text below was a response to a Christian who considered my use of the NIV to be heretical, if not satanic. I hope it answers your questions maybe before you even asked them! It has errors as do all versions, both ancient and modern. Unfortunately, we do not have original manuscripts of the various books of the New Testament but we do have fragments of very early manuscripts back to about AD plus many complete texts from after AD.
In most cases, the earlier the manuscript the more accurate it should be, though there are some early manuscripts, from specific regions, which were clearly flawed. Prior to the Nicean Council of AD there were numerous heresies within the church. We also have quotes from New Testament writings found in many letters sent between Christians from about 50AD. I understand that you can read the entire New Testament from the quotes collected up to AD! But many of the newer translations were produced using a composite of later discoveries of other manuscripts and fragments dating from an earlier period.
Probably none of them because none are original.
Many Christian expositors, including Martin Luther , the great Reformer; Sir Isaac Newton, the famous scientist; and the historian, Edward Gibbon; have seen in the fifth and sixth trumpets the rise and progress of Islam. In view of the tremendous military, religious, economic and cultural impact Islam has had on the Christian world in the nearly fourteen hundred years since its rise in the s, this interpretation deserves our serious attention.

The King James AV 1611 Bible vs. The New International Version
Its time for the church to offer the KJV a gold watch, shake its hand, and let it fade into history. He is on to something. It is time for serious Bible students and people in the pews to leave their KJVs home and get a more accurate, more helpful translation of the Bible to use.
Even taken out of textus receptus, dating and sexual purity dimensions.
They believe that the KJV is the version of the Bible that is closest to the original. As with other areas of the IFB belief system, this falls along a continuum of beliefs. On the more liberal side of the continuum, some IFB churches believe that the KJV is the most accurate version of the Bible and should be used by all Christians to avoid heretical views and beliefs.
The IFB churches I experienced fell on the more conservative side of the above mentioned continuum. It would be interesting to do a study of how the IFB came to the conclusion that the KJV is the closest translation to the original. I simply took it upon faith like every other teaching that came from the IFB. When I brought this up to my pastors, teachers, parents, leaders, etc. I would get the answer that it is for this reason that I should be in a good IFB church so that the Pastor could explain what the words in the KJV meant.
It also made me suspicious. I often wondered if the Pastors really knew what the meanings were or if they were simply repeating what they had learned thus perpetuating the lie. I was also told that understanding the KJV would come with spiritual maturity. This was strange to me also and I wondered why the Lord would have us use a Bible that was difficult to understand and that understanding the Bible would only come with spiritual maturity.
That just seemed backwards to me. I often wondered if it would have been better had the Lord made a Bible that was easier for new Christians to understand and have the more mature Christians use the KJV.

Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that commiteth fornication sinneth against his own body.

Brian Tegart Acts Mountains of articles and commentaries have been written on this single word, whether the Greek word “pascha” should be translated as “Easter” or “Passover” in this verse. It is my goal in writing this article to not simply reiterate what is amply found elsewhere, but to provide a fresh perspective by slicing through the rhetoric and simplifying the issue by providing some brief history, clear definitions from scripture and often-ignored facts.
The work was led initially by James Leslie Starkey until he was murdered by Arab bandits.
Summary Summary of the Gospel of John This summary of the Gospel of John provides information about the title, author s , date of writing, chronology, theme, theology, outline, a brief overview, and the chapters of the Gospel of John. Author The author is the apostle John, “the disciple whom Jesus loved” He was prominent in the early church but is not mentioned by name in this Gospel — which would be natural if he wrote it, but hard to explain otherwise. The author knew Jewish life well, as seen from references to popular Messianic speculations see, e.
He knew the geography of the Holy Land, locating Bethany about 15 stadia about two miles from Jerusalem The Gospel of John has many touches that appear to reflect the recollections of an eyewitness — such as the house at Bethany being filled with the fragrance of the broken perfume jar see Early writers such as Irenaeus and Tertullian say that John wrote this Gospel, and all other evidence agrees see Introduction to 1 John: Date In general, two views of the dating of this Gospel have been advocated:

Despite the uniformity of the Bible, verses are all too often misinterpreted or quoted out of context.
But are you hearing them as they were intended? The Bible is not merely a collection of quotes, or one-liners, but is the telling of history. The Bible is a comprehensive story, from the beginning of the world to the end — not ending years ago or in the present, but at the end of the world at the return of Christ. The end is not unknown, but is already written. Despite the uniformity of the Bible, verses are all too often misinterpreted or quoted out of context.
The reality is that chapter and verse markings were actually not added to the Bible until over years after its writing.

Mary Carmichael August 5, at I am looking for a scripture I remember the meaning of, but not the book or verse. I am not sure exactly how it is worded, but it talks about Heaven, and who will make it or not…. It was something along those lines. I need to study my bible more. I have a person that is stating God is Love, so same sex marriage is OK, because it is about Love…not the gender. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated, as I want to witness the Truth to this person, but want to do it correctly, or not at all, as I also believe false witnessing is an abomination.
Thank you very much and God bless you Jack Wellman August 6, at 5:
